Similar experience with the black dual hose causing the problem. I managed to isolate and support the section causing the noise with some foam. All quiet now.

Sounds like a simple problem to solve - isolate the outer/inner from each other - Have you passed this on to Alde?

I won't be near the trailer for a couple of weeks. But while making the noise just move your hand around on the black hose until you hear it stop. I just used some scrap memory foam cut from our topper. Wedged it in. Sound came back added another piece further along. And of course the third piece fixed it. I never took the other two out. I didn't want to jinx it. That was a year ago. No issues since. It's not science just trial and error.

Where did you wedge the foam? Between the inner and outer pipes or between the outer pipe and some nearby structure?

You know I have stuff stored in the back section, behind the Alde and I think it helps dampen the sound. I had to run it this AM. It was under 40 degrees and my feet were damp from my morning shoot. It is nice and toasty, now. I am at 9,500' right now.

I dropped to a site at 9,163' last night and no freight train. It was rather chilly here after the rain. I haven't been running the Alde much, at all, but kept it on all night. Rocky prefers the heat.

Isn't that the truth! Have had to change my sleeping-waking schedule for feeding times. Have, however trained mine to to adjust the volume on these issues.

We camped at 8200ft last weekend, and it was a mild freight train noise, enough to hear it 1-2 campsites away. Woke me up, but not my wife. The evenings were unusually warm, so we didn't have the heat on, but the Alde kicked on & off to keep the hot water hot. Still no word from Alde US, Alde Sweden, or LG regarding a resolution.

Ditto. I haven't run the Alde that much as it has slightly warmed, but last night and this morning it was much colder and windy.

I'll take some neoprene from an old partially rotted wader with me to the high country this fall to deaden hose noise with. I'm brand new to this so I need to know if the Alde will keep us warm at high altitude or do we need to buy a small ceramic heater? We plan to be between 6,000 and 8,000 feet up without hookups. Thanks for your thoughts.

@GrandmasKid...we've never had problems with the Alde running at those altitudes, just more "rumble" the higher you get (we live at 7,000ft).
@OutbackAZ...I've never had good luck with ALDE U.S. (Portland/Vancouver), although some folks report otherwise. I'll send you some notes offline that I got from Scott Hubble.

Here's the 5/25/2016 headline of a long email I got from Scott; it echoes a comment ALDE service dealer comment at a big rig RV shop in Grand Junction, CO (to reduce gas pressure; his advice was to do it at the tank/wall). Perhaps if we keep pressure on PV and ALDE (pun intended) they'll do something more definitive...

I havnt found a reducer yet like what is shown in the PP. But the customer could have their pressure adjusted in the short term. I also think the Camper is going to work better because the longer hose makes it work better.

We should establish this valve which can be added for High Altitude application. Its just a inline pressure reducer.

That's a good question. Is there a sufficient heater that will run on my 75Ah, AGM battery. I can charge the battery with our 160 watt Zamp solar system. Will the Alde heat us up using the battery? We don't like the cold.

GrandmasKids - You'd run the Alde on propane. The Alde pump runs off battery but is pretty energy efficient. So, charging your battery via solar for the pump works just fine. I have a small ceramic heater but only use with a hookup as it'd kill my battery if run overnight. Anything that heats up - hair dryer, toaster, heater, etc - draw too much juice to run off the battery - unless of course you have a big battery bank.
