Have a strange little Tool Shop kit - rachet, racheting screwdriver and umpteen bits which include the square ones. Am retired computer repair tech so have a variety of small tools for laptops: bought this at Menard's some years ago because it had so many 'odd' bits. Laptops tend to have lots of small Torx screws plus many tiny #000 Philips head screws. Mercifully a good pal is 1) a veteran RVer and 2) a retired mechanic so help is not far away. Will probably start a list so I know what tools to bring along (and lists are good for my happily retired brain....).
Still have a lot of loose ends to tie up, but the bulk of the work is done. The mattress is a 6" thick full size with 2" of gel-infused memory foam and 4" of high-density foam. Should be roomy and comfy. It was a tight squeeze length wise, but the 75" did make it into the 71" inside width of the T@B. I may cut it down to make it easier to make the bed. We used some pillows that we had for the table bench seats, but will look for something better. Overall, happy with the results.
Ah! To quote my youngest 20 something daughter, "Derpity derp derp, Dad!"
That's it. Of course now the latch locks work perfectly - using the proper key - since they've been just been cleaned and lubed.
Thanks again to the collective T@B Forum wisdom. I'm usually Captain Obvious but simply missed that 30 second lesson from the previous owner, and my darling wife (a Rev. Dr. with three degrees more than me) didn't note the difference between the two kinds of keys.
There were some pictures showing a lot of stuff on back bumper of trailer in a carrier, looked poked up, fire wood, maybe generator, etc. I am guessing improper loading, no WDH, speed and then maybe a wind gust and out of control in a bad spot.
While this TV and trailer are bigger than a Tab and usual tow vehicles, still good lessons about trailing can be learned.
No one knows for sure what happened yet, but pictures tell a lot just by the weight on back bumper. High speeds (I have driven that road and very few go under 80, trailer or not), etc. Lead to bad things.
The skies may look blue, but had to travel through the eye of the storm to pickup "Hoyt" today in North Carolina. No longer just researching....New T@B owners!
Haven't seen that kind of platform that anyone's done but have seen people remove the standard tub and replace with a full width diamod plate cargo box.
@GeorgiaMB, that "oh, we really are doing this thing" quickly turns into "oh, why didn't we do this earlier?" right after the "oh, how do we back up?" thing subsides. Welcome aboard. You'll love it!
We got word our 400 is being prepped for us to pick up this weekend! We'll finally have a place for all the new goodies we have been gathering since placing our order. I can't wait for all the tinkering, fiddling, modding....
Ran across these fairly new orientation videos for the 2021 400. He goes into great detail about the Alde system and how to adjust the mixer valve among other things. Much better than the Princess Craft tech videos where I feel like I know more than the tech.
